The Top 11 hopefuls learned the results of a public vote during Thursday night's live broadcast after performing songs from the year of their birth on Wednesday.
Magrane's cover of Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's 'One Sweet Day' was found to have the least number of votes after falling into the bottom three with Elise Testone and Erika Van Pelt, and she was sent home by the judges.
While judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler had the opportunity to rescue Magrane from elimination, they chose not to use their one save of the season but did not offer an explanation behind the decision.

Reacting to her exit, Magrane thanked fans for remaining "loyal" to her and always being "honest" in sharing their thoughts.
The Top 10 now includes Van Pelt and Testone, as well as Phillip Phillips, Hollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon, Heejun Han, Skylar Laine and DeAndre Brackensick. The group will comprise the acts featured on the American Idol summer tour.
Tonight's episode also included a performance from former Idol contestant Daughtry, who performed 'Outta My Head'. Demi Lovato also took to the stage to sing her latest single, 'Give Your Heart a Break'.
American Idol continues next Wednesday (March 21) on Fox.
