DeAndre Brackensick is eliminated on American Idol

After American Idol's Top 8 took their turns performing classics from the '80s, the judges were divided as to who came out on top. While there's no doubt each of the remaining contestants bring massive amounts of talent to the table, only one can win and anything but the very best makes them vulnerable for elimination.

Tonight, we'll say goodbye to another hopeful - unless they're lucky enough to be saved by judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler. Who will fall to the bottom and who will sail through? Stay with Digital Spy live from 8/7c to find out!

21:01Well, that's it for this week! We're down to only 7 singers now. Who will it be next week? Join us next Wednesday (April 10) at 8/7c for the next round of performances!

20:59DeAndre sings 'Jammin' as his final song and doesn't seem to have much control of it. He seems to have resigned himself to go going home... And unfortunately, they decide not to save him - even though Jennifer admits that she fought for him to stay.

20:56Well, here's the moment of truth - DeAndre has to sing for his life. Something tells me if Jennifer gets her way, he'll be staying...

20:51No sooner is the bottom three completed than Hollie is named safe and sent back to the couches. That means it'll be either Elise or DeAndre singing for their life tonight. Please let it be DeAndre!

20:50Finally, Elise Testone and Phillip Phillips hear their results - and it's no surprise that it's Elise who fills out the bottom three. She just can't seem to catch a break!

20:41Kellie Pickler's returning to the Idol stage to sing her new single 'Where's Tammy Wynette?' I don't think I've ever heard a country singer with more of an audible country twang than Kellie Pickler, to be honest. I'm not that fond of the song, really, but... good for her, I suppose?

20:36Time for more results! Skylar Laine and Colton Dixon hear their results next. Y'all know I love Skylar, so she'd better get through. Y'all also know I tend to say 'y'all' whenever I talk about Skylar. Whatever. Hollie Cavanagh and DeAndre Brackensick are also called down. I feel like Hollie may be in trouble, just because voters tend to listen to everything the judges say. Boo.

DeAndre falls into the bottom three - a fair call, I think. Colton, meanwhile, is safe - as is Skylar. Hollie joins DeAndre in the bottom three, but we knew that was going to happen.

20:22Hey, it's The Wanted! They're singing 'Glad You Came', which I feel like was always on Capital FM while I was over in England last month. Why does the one dude in The Wanted look about 15, while the rest of them are clearly close to 30? Well, maybe not. I always get The Wanted mixed up with One Direction in my head, by the way. Not because they're really similar, just because my brain does weird things. Anyway, I don't mind this song.

20:17Tonight, we're doing results by duet. Joshua and Jessica are called down first to hear their fates. This isn't much of a result, as they're both safe - who's surprised? Not me.

20:12It's everyone's favourite time - the Ford music video is up! This week, it involves them pretending to frame objects on the street between their fingers and moving them like magnets. No, there is no point. The song is 'We Are Young' and it wasn't worth the two sentences I've just typed. Maybe I just have a bad attitude.

Nah, it was really bad.

20:06In order to fill up the entire hour of this programme, we're treated to our first filler content of the evening - Jennifer Lopez's new video for 'Dance Again', starring her real-life boyfriend Casper Smart.

20:05Joshua Ledet's not feeling well tonight - he's light-headed and feels like he might pass out. Oh wait, you know how I said I wanted DeAndre to go home? I would prefer Joshua. It'll never happen, but y'know.

By the way, The Wanted and Kellie Pickler will be performing tonight! Try to control yourselves, Kellie Pickler fans. Ha, I kid.

20:01And we're off! Who do you want to go home tonight? Personally, I'm ready to say goodbye to Mr L'Oreal (DeAndre), but for some reason, I don't imagine that'll be the case. We'll find out!
