After last night's mixed bag of performances from American Idol's Top 7, it may have seemed obvious as to who we'd be seeing in the bottom three tonight. But is it? Following reports of a "shock" result tonight, it's anyone's guess as to who we may be saying goodbye to.

With judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler yet to use their one save, could tonight be the night when a contestant is spared? Stay with Digital Spy live from 8/7c to find out!

21:02Well, that's it for this week, kiddies. Join us again next week when the Top 7 will again hit the stage - and someone will definitely be headed home!

21:00Jessica once again wants everyone to know that she's "worked hard [her] entire life" but insists that she takes nothing for granted and wasn't particularly surprised to be in the bottom. Uh huh. She takes the show out with her performance of Deborah Cox's 'Nobody's Supposed to Be Here'.

20:58You can tell Jessica's been knocked down a few pegs and just a few notes into her performance, the judges storm the stage. Jennifer grabs the mic and says, "This is crazy! Of course we're using the save! Go sit down!" Randy then confirms it - they're saving Jessica "without any doubt" - and calls her "one of the best singers in America ever". Jesus, Randy, take it down a few notches tonight.

20:56The lights are dimmed, and it's time for RESULTTTTTTTTTTTS! (said like 'Oprahhhhhhhhhhhhh!') Incidentally, Joshua is safe, which is a crock of bull, but whatever. Sigh. The person in risk of leaving tonight after the nationwide vote is... Jessica Sanchez. Escandalo! Ay dios mio! Shock around the studio! I mean, it is a little surprising, but we all know she's not going anywhere.

20:52Randy insists that he's "never seen this happen" and also claims that he's never said before that America got it wrong. Uh, except he says that every week, but whatever. Before any more results are revealed, Steven insists that the judges will be using their save card tonight. Well, thanks for that, Steven, considering we haven't heard the bottom singer do his/her final performance.

20:51Skylar joins... no one, because she's safe! Well, that's a good thing - y'all know I love her (and that I love to say 'y'all' when discussing her). Ryan then makes her pick the group she thinks she belongs with, but she refuses, rightfully so. Still, he insists on putting her with one of the groups... and incidentally, it's Hollie, Phillip and Colton! That means Elise, Joshua and Jessica are the bottom three. Whaaaaaat? (That's me pretending to care.)

20:48Colton joins Hollie and Phillip while Joshua joins Jessica and Elise. Finally, it's down to Skylar. Ryan questions, "Can you guys figure this out yet?" He should be asking whether or not you give a s- okay, I'll stop. Let's just get on with it, can we?

20:46Time for Colton Dixon and Joshua Ledet to be separated into their respective groups. God help us if Joshua's not in the bottom. I'm over it! Is this a plot against me? Are you guys voting for him every week just to hear me whine about it on this live blog? It's a conspiracy!

20:37Hey, we're taking another break from results (surprise!) for a performance by Jennifer Hudson and Ne-Yo - they're singing Jennifer's song 'Think Like a Man'. I like Jennifer Hudson and damn, she doesn't half look good, too. Sounds great, to boot, though I'm unsure about this song.

> 'American Idol's Colton, Phillip upset by Jimmy Iovine 'rivalry' talk

20:32Time for more results! Phillip Phillips and Elise Testone are called down next. My guess? Phillip joins Jessica, Elise joins Hollie. Am I right?

I have to laugh when Jimmy Iovine says that Phil's performance was like "Dave Matthews singing a Maroon 5 song". Too right. Anyway, seems I got it wrong, surprisingly. (Could this be the SHOCK result?!) Phil joins Hollie and Elise joins Jessica. Uh oh!

20:22Remember James Durban? I know, unfortunately I do, too. He's back to sing his new single, 'Higher Than Heaven' or something equally as awful. He sounds like a million other awful bands, but bless him.

20:17Hollie Cavanagh and Jessica Sanchez are called down first for results. Does Jessica even need to hear results anymore? Can't they just start the show with her sitting on the 'safe' couch? Jessica comments that she's "worked hard all [her] life" - all 16 years of it. Give me a break.

Anyway, Hollie starts a group on the right side of the stage while Jessica is on the left, so I guess that's how we're doing results tonight. Hollie's clearly in the bottom group. "What does it all mean?" Ryan implores. I think it's pretty clear, Ryan.

20:13Since we've got plenty of time to kill, Ryan gives out fanmail to the contestants. Colton has got an invitation to prom while Hollie also gets a letter from an admirer. Elise has got a feathered accessory from a fan and she gets one for Steven, too, who has never looked more like a crotchety grandma than he does tonight.

20:12Hey, were you guys waiting with baited breath for the Ford music video? I thought I'd turn blue from anticipation! Luckily, the fake lined paper drawing video sees the Top 7 riding on fake dragons, then closing a 'math' notebook. Zzzzz. Oh, also, the celebs have reached out to show their support for the contestants.

20:06Randy - who is sporting a glittery smiley face brooch (?) - is a little worried about the results tonight, as he always is at this point in the evening. I'm not sure what I find more boring, this pseudo-surprise build up or the Top 7's version of Pink's 'Raise Your Glass'. The vocals are a total mess, Hollie looks uncomfortable as hell, Colton is probably going to get major stick from his friends for this and it's just a mess. I wish I had a glass to raise through this, to be honest. Thanks, guys, I'll be here all night.

20:02Hereeeee we go! Since TMZ's been dropping hints about "shock results" - as has Ryan Seacrest - it makes you wonder who might end up in the bottom three tonight. Well, it doesn't make me wonder because I don't care enough, but I'm sure some people are curious.
