Stay with Digital Spy live from 8/7c to find out who impresses judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson as well as the voting public!
Jennifer thinks that very few people could perform to such a high standard and have such a great voice, saying that it's been years since they've seen someone like him and calling him "one of the best singers in the past 50 years". Steven praises his artistry, saying that he can go into a recording style and make a hit record out of anything because he's just that good.
She delivers, of course, as usual. But again, it was nothing new or exciting.
Nothing is wrong! She does a great job with it. Skylar is great. Do I even have to say anything else about it? She's a total star.
Doesn't really help that the background on stage is... yes, tie dye. Anyone got the hacky sack? Performance is mediocre and exactly like all his others - if you like Phil, you'll love this!
She sounds great - love this performance and a good song choice for her. Modern, fun, and a good showcase for her voice. End of!
Vocally, of course, she sounds great. However, the dancing leaves a bit to be desired and she seems somewhat uncomfortable with the song. Not that I fault her for that, of course - I couldn't walk in those 6-inch heels myself! (Full disclosure: I have never worn heels and will never.)
Jennifer doesn't know the original and therefore had nothing to compare it to. Still, she feels it lacked melody, even if he is a great performer and someone "compelling" to watch. Steven also misses the melody but thinks that he "gets away with it" the same way the Rolling Stones did. Uh, really? He also claims that Phil "waves his freak flag" - though there's nothing freakish about anything Phil does, only a little corny.
The performance itself is great, vocally speaking. She really tries to come out of her shell and she's totally come a long way since beginning the competition. I really love the sound of her voice and it's amazing what a little self-confidence has done for her overall performance.
