American Idol host Ryan Seacrest previously mentioned Phillips's partner on the show but the contestant explained that he does not expect the news to affect his chances.

"It doesn't matter," he told E! Online.
"If it does, then [the voters] weren't really liking the music. I'm trying to get the music out there. I'm not trying to be some boy that tries to look good or anything. I want the music to speak first."
Phillips also revealed that his girlfriend supports him "all the way", saying: "[She] is really proud of me being out there and pursuing my dreams."
The American Idol results show airs tonight at 8/7c on Fox.
