The actress made the comments on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, stating that she "didn't know" if she would return, and that it "locks" her down for many months of the year.

However, she also commented that she "really enjoy[s] it".

Lythgoe responded to Lopez's remarks, telling TMZ: "We want her back. I want her back.

"I know how much she loves doing the show and how much she cares for the kids. It's a business. She has to weigh everything. I know she's gotten lots of offers to do movies and other things."

Jennifer Lopez was named 'The World's Most Powerful Celebrity' by Forbes earlier today (May 16), thanks to earning $52 million over the last 12 months and attracting a "massive amount of fame" from her music, American Idol and her endorsements.
