Jon Bon Jovi 'won't replace Jennifer Lopez on American Idol'

Jon Bon Jovi will not join American Idol next season, according to sources.

The Bon Jovi frontman had been mooted as a possible replacement for Jennifer Lopez by the singer herself, as she announced her exit from the show.



However, insiders close to the singer and actor told TMZ that he will not be available to take part in the US talent competition.

"With all systems go for a new album and a mega-tour on the horizon, Jon wouldn't be able to give those aspiring singers the guidance they deserve," the source said.

They added: "Jon wouldn't commit to anything unless he can give 100%. With planning for the next album already under way, he's focused on the band."

American Idol returns to Fox in 2013, with open auditions currently taking place across the US.
