American Idol producers 19 Entertainment and FremantleMedia have launched a summer camp based on the hit TV singing contest.
Idol Camp will take place this summer in Northfield, Massachusetts for children aged between 12 and 15.
Participants will take classes in singing, dancing, acting, songwriting and audition techniques.
"Utilising the power of the American Idol phenomenon, we can provide a truly one-of-a-kind experience," explained Mark Brittain, head of commercial for Idol at 19 Entertainment. The company also plans to award "a certain percentage" of students with fully-paid scholarships.
FremantleMedia's Keith Hindle added: "As in American Idol, the goal for our kids is to soar beyond their expectations; however, because Idol Camp is not a competition, every kid goes home a winner."
