Woman gives birth after 'Idol' audition

A woman who was nine months pregnant auditioned for American Idol and gave birth to a baby boy straight afterwards.

Antoria Gillon could feel contractions but she battled on through to perform in front of the judges and even managed to be put through to the next round.

Straight after the heat she was then taken to the closest hospital to the Texas stadium and gave birth to the boy, which she aptly named Jamil Labarron Idol McCowan.

Gillon said: "I didn't want to turn around after being there all those hours in the heat with people pushing. So my friend helped me walk through the line.

"I wasn’t going to leave without singing. I gave it my all through the contractions. They were back to back and getting harder and harder but I was more than willing to have my baby right there. I wasn’t leaving without my golden ticket to the next round.”
