David Cook dates former 'Idol' contestant

Cook told Extra that he's "had a really good time" with Caldwell, who finished seventh on the second season of the talent show.
The 25-year-old singer met Caldwell during an appearance on the TV Guide Network's Idol Tonight show and said: "I've been hearing you say all these nice things about me all season, so I'm actually going to ask you to dinner right now."
Cook admitted that he knew who Caldwell was but couldn't remember her from American Idol.
"I can't remember a song that she sang. I'm probably in the dog house now," he said.
Since appearing on American Idol, Caldwell has hosted her own talk show Reality Chat and appeared in the film Wrong Turn 2: Dead End.
