TV presenter Rycroft was taking part in camera rehearsals for a group number at CBS Studios, where the show is filmed, when she suffered suspected head and neck injuries, People reports.
Rycroft was taken to hospital for evaluation, but has since been discharged, according to E! Online.
"Melissa was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she is currently being examined," a spokesperson for Rycroft had confirmed earlier on Sunday (October 21).
"She was accompanied to the hospital by her husband Tye Strickland, and her dance partner Tony Dovolani. Everyone is taking all necessary precautions at this time."
Dovolani wrote on his Twitter page: "Really concerned about @MelissaRycroft..... we don't know if we are dancing tomorrow !!!!! Please keep us in your prayers #trouper"
The remaining eight couples are expected to perform one individual dance and one group number each this week.
Dancing with the Stars airs at a special time this week because of the final US presidential debate. Two one-hour shows will air on Monday (October 22) and Tuesday (October 23) at 8/7c on ABC.
