Despite earning a higher judges' score than Jackass star Steve-O, the actor and comedian found himself in the dance-off with former American footballer Lawrence Taylor after earning 22 out a possible 30 points for his Viennese Waltz.
Criticising his performance, panellist Bruno Tonioli said: "At times you lifted your leg and you looked like a dog at the lamppost... When you kept it classic it worked, but when you went off and started to go wild it didn't work."
Performing in the dance-off with professional partner Kym Johnson, Grier managed to raise his judges' score by two points. However, he lost out to Taylor, who failed to alter his points, in the viewers vote.
Speaking after his elimination, Grier said: "From week one, Kym and I planned on being in the dance-off on week five, so my evil plan is coming together. There's so much support and camaraderie backstage that it's been awesome. My biggest goal was to try and make Kym proud."
This week's show saw actor Gilles Marini retain his position at the top of the leader board after he scored 29 for his Paso Doble.
Next week, the remaining eight celebrities will have to dance either the Rumba or the Jive.
