Marini, daughter to undergo surgery together

Dancing With The Stars contestant Gilles Marini has revealed that he will be undergoing surgery on the same day as his young daughter.

The actor, who will compete in next week's live finals, told Entertainment Tonight that he is preparing to go under the knife after suffering a separated shoulder earlier in the competition.

"My daughter needs a little surgery too. So we're going to have one room. We're having surgery the same day - that way we can actually stay together," he explained.

"We're getting closer to the surgery and I'm getting a little bit antsy, I'm like, 'Okay, what's going to happen?'"

However, he assured fans that he has no intention of dropping out of the final show, saying: "I'm not gonna back up and say, 'Oh, I can't dance because of that'. Hell no!"

Marini topped the leaderboard last week after receiving two perfect scores for his waltz and salsa.
