The evening followed the format set by the male contestants on Monday night, with the couples each performing one individual dance and taking part in a relay dance.
The individual dance:
Len: "Maks, you said this was all about the hips and unfortunately that was one of the elements missing and it was necessary. Your feet were a little bit flat, [and] you don't get the leg action and the hip action. It was full of energy and I think you're full of potential but at the moment there's a lot work to do." (5)
Bruno: "On the good side you can work those bosoms like nobody else and I got a lot of value out of that. There is a lot of potential. If you don't keep your weight on the toe it doesn't work in the Latin dances. Your timing went all over the place. It was a very difficult dance but I hope you stay because there you have a lot to show." (5)
Carrie-Ann: "I think it's so much tougher on the girls because they are the visual candy. I think you have a lot of guts but I think you lack a connection from your character to the moves. I expected a lot more sass from you in your face, but nice start." (6)
Bruno: "It was prim, it was proper, it was adequate but it failed to ignite, it lacked a bit of magic. You have to watch the top line. Your shoulders rise up and it spoils the line of the dance. I think because you're a bit tense you didn't perform to the level I know you can. There is work to do." (6)
Carrie-Ann: "What you did tonight, which is pretty amazing, is you created a few moments I will remember. What was lacking was a connection to the beat of the music. It felt a little choppy. There is definitely an elegance to you that I'm excited to see as you go forward." (6)
Len: "The start I couldn't stand. It was all sweet and sickly and I hate all that. I thought your hold was good and you kept it throughout the parts when you were in a proper ballroom position. I liked the movement you created. Your feet were no good, lots of poor footwork but overall it was okay." (6)
Carrie-Ann: "Way to set the bar tonight! That was gorgeous, your lines are incredible. The quality of your movement. Your turns are gorgeous, your performance quality, musicality, all of it fantastic. That was beautiful." (8)
Len: "I'm in a bit of a predicament. I know this is the American smooth version of the Viennese Waltz and you can release the hold, but do me a favour - three bars in hold and the three bars you did, I didn't like. The further you go from the roots of the dance the more you lose. This was not a Viennese Waltz. It was a theatrical hotchpotch. You are a fantastic dancer - you [Dmitry] have let her down by not doing a Viennese Waltz." (5)
Bruno: "That was artistry in motion. The girl was magnificent! This is where the show takes off!" (8)
Len: "I think you have the potential to develop but at the moment that lacked any energy for me and it was far too careful. You have to come out and really sizzle." (5)
Bruno: "I know you can sell almost anything but you didn't sell the salsa. When you turned you looked like you were treading on eggshells. No hip action. Salsa is sex, sex, sex - with no sex it doesn't work." (5)
Carrie-Ann: "You have great posture and I think that will work for you in this competition but in the salsa you have to let go and shimmy it up. I think your hips weren't moving very much and that's what you need to work on." (6)
Bruno: "The million dollar mermaid! You could one day make it here. You have some fantastic shapes and you hit great positions. The problem is at times you freeze mid performance and cannot quite catch up. You have to sustain it all the way through because you have what it takes to become a great dancer." (6)
Carrie-Ann: "Athletes have historically done well on our show. It's because you know how to use your muscles, your full body. You are a diamond in the rough. I loved that performance, I thought it was really fun. You have to watch out for your musicality. You're a little on top of the beat. You need to sink into the beat a little, but nice pointed toes." (7)
Len: "I'm a little bewildered really, I think it's time for me to have my bath! The salsa is sexy and steamy and what I can't understand is we have these gorgeous girls coming out here in one of the hottest dances you can get. If they can't knock my socks off with this dance then I don't know what's going on. This was all too placed." (6)
Carrie-Ann: "That was fascinating. There is something about you that is fascinating to watch. Your technique, I can't even go there, but when you perform there is such a natural genuineness to you and you are so innocent and pure. It was beautiful in it's own bizarre way." (6)
Len: "Carrie-Ann is correct. There is a vulnerability about you and a charm. If I was at home I would be voting for you." (4)
Bruno: "You are endearing. It was like watching a child take his first steps into a scary new world. You touch people's hearts and now we have to start working on the technique." (5)
Len: "I'm happy because at last we've seen a hot, smoking salsa." (8)
Bruno: "What a specimen! That was so sexy, what a salsa should be. Derek, your choreography made the most of your partner." (8)
Carrie-Ann: "I agree. I thought it was hot! You have confidence and it's going to take you all the way!" (8)
Bruno: "I cannot believe my eyes! The wild child rock princess transformed into a vision of grace and elegance in a waltz of impeccable style." (8)
Carrie-Ann: "Mum and dad are going to be very proud, that was beautiful. There were chills up and down my spine. Louis welcome back to the show. The technique you taught her tonight was fantastic and beautiful but I'm going to dock you - you lifted your foot off the ground!" (7)
Len: "I'll be very brief. That was the best Viennese Waltz of the night." (8)
The relay dance:
Carrie-Ann: "It was a good ending, I loved it! Joanna, surprise, surprise - elegant and sexy and hot! Kathy, I thought you looked like you were going to the Oscars - filled with glamour. Your footwork was a little too small for your height. Natalie, I thought you did excellent and Debi, you're muscling a little bit."
Len: "Natalie, you had beautiful extension and lovely movement on the floor and danced really well. Kathy, you have to try to move a little bit more but you looked very elegant. Joanna, good mix in the lift and Maksim - very brave, you did a lot of the dance in hold and didn't go for the easy option."
Bruno: "Natalie, much more at ease on the ballroom - lovely fluidity, great presence. Kathy, very elegant but still a little bit hesitant. Come out a bit more because you have got it. Joanna, still smoking! Debi, great performer but control your energy."
The judges' rankings:
1. Joanna and Derek (10)
2. Natalie and Alec (8)
3. Debi and Maksim (6)
4. Kathy and Tony (4)
Len: "Macy, I think your busy schedule has caught up with you unfortunately. Melissa, a much higher level of performance - it was far better than the earlier dance. Mya, great hips, loved the routine, much more content. Kelly - you produced two first class dances."
Bruno: "Macy, better timing and you seem more comfortable with the music. Melissa, it's good having fun, isn't it? Go for it because you can! Mya, that footwork and placement of leg on beat - you can hit it! Kelly, I just still can't believe what I'm seeing! You can shake it, do romantic - shame there was a little misstep at the end."
Carrie-Ann: "Macy, you have to work a little harder on capturing the essence of styling the cha cha cha. Melissa, much better, most improved and nice to see you come out of your shell. Mya, excellent, fantastic and great, crisp energy. Kelly, fantastic legwork - they were tight, sharp but watch your other arm."
The judges' rankings:
1. Mya and Dmitry (10)
2. Kelly and Louis (8)
3. Melissa and Mark (6)
4. Macy and Jonathan (4)
