Burke 'urged DeLay to leave Dancing'

Dancing With The Stars professional Cheryl Burke has revealed that she urged partner Tom DeLay to withdraw from the show.

The former House Majority Leader sustained stress fractures in both his feet before deciding to leave the competition earlier this month.

Speaking to E! Online's Marc Malkin, she said: "He talked to me a few days before.

"It was during rehearsal when he could only rehearse 30 minutes a day. I could see it was getting worse. I offered it to him. I said, 'Tom, you don't have to continue, honestly. I don't think it'd be good for you'."

DeLay has since been invited to perform the Texas Two-Step during the season finale of the ABC show.
