The singer earned the comparison from judge Bruno Tonioli after performing the Argentine tango with partner Karina Smirnoff during last night's live show.
Giving his critique, Tonioli said: "You switched on the magnetism and you were in character. It was a bit like watching Robert Pattinson tangoing in Twilight!"
Carter had previously been told that he was "trying too hard" and was turning viewers off by going "over the top" in his routines.
Speaking to OK after his performance, he stated: "I listened to the critiques. I want to do better. I want to try to win this.
"Right now, I'm not winning at all. I'm getting my butt kicked. It's very humbling but at the same time, now I know not to put the cart before the horse."
