The superstar's sister La Toya introduced the segment, which featured the show's professionals dancing to some of Jackson's biggest hits.
"For many years my brother Michael shared his extraordinary talent with the world," said La Toya.
"The delight he has brought to his fans was only eclipsed by the joy he experienced while performing. Michael said on many occasions that when he was dancing he felt he had been touched by something sacred."
She added: "He wrote, 'Dancers come and go in the twinkle of an eye, but the dance lives on'. As a fan of all types of dancing he would be most proud that these talented performers share his enthusiasm for the dance."
The segment was also accompanied by a video which featured contributions from the dancers, La Toya and Jackson's brother Jermaine.
The professional dancers performed routines to the Jackson 5's 'I Want You Back' and the singer's classic hits 'Man In The Mirror' and 'Thriller', while La Toya, Jermaine and Jackson's mother Katherine watched from the audience.
Jackson passed away on June 25, aged 50.
