The actress and talkshow host - who has consistently remained at the top of the leaderboard with professional partner Derek Hough during season 13 of the ABC show - claimed that while everyone has worked hard on improving their performances from week to week, it's Martinez who she views as her biggest competition.

"I think everyone's improved every week. He's definitely the one to beat. All I can say is it's going to be very hard to beat the war hero who can dance," Lake explained to The Huffington Post.
"He's got a smile that lights up the whole ballroom. He's amazing. I'd be happy to take second to him. I hope we take first, but if I have to lose to someone, I'd be glad if it's him. But I really want it to be about who gives the best performance so I'm bringing as much of my "A" game as I can and it's not easy. I am not a natural dancer. JR has natural ability. It's definitely a work in progress."
Lake, who has said that she has lost "a lot of weight" on the dancing series, recently revealed that she never expects to be as thin as former Dancing with the Stars contestants Jennifer Grey and Chynna Phillips.
Earlier in the season, Hough experienced a shoulder injury during rehearsal but took the stage despite the incident, later claiming that "the show must go on".
