Anger Management, a TV adaptation of the so-so Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson caper of the same name, has been given the go-ahead by Lionsgate. It will see Sheen hook up with his former Young Guns and Major League producer Joe Roth and the 46-year-old New Yorker will take on the lead role - a therapist with rage issues.
Sheen undoubtedly has screen charisma and Two and a Half Men remained a mega-ratings grabber, no matter what you thought of it. However, a flimsy potentially one-gag concept like Anger Management may not have legs, regardless of the casting.
Perhaps the most intriguing question of all is which network will take a punt on Charlie? We can safely rule out Charlie's old buddies at CBS, but would any of the other major players want a wildcard like Sheen on their books?
