Torchwood: Series 1 Volume 2 on DVD

Created by Russell T Davies, Torchwood is the slick, new, sexy, sci-fi thriller that has taken the nation by storm. First shown on BBC Three in October to enormous critical acclaim, the show has also been a massive ratings hit, becoming the highest viewed multichannel show ever! Starring John Barrowman (Doctor Who) and Eve Myles, Torchwood follows the adventures of a team of investigators using alien technology to solve crimes: some terrestrial, some not.

From an underground base built on a rift in time and space in Cardiff, the Torchwood team investigate any inexplicable, paranormal or alien threat. Across the second four episodes the team’s challenges involve mysterious happenings, including flesh-eating mysteries in the Brecon Beacons, interrogating corpses to discover the past, the remnants of an alien invasion and a powerful pendant that enables the wearer to read everyone’s innermost thoughts – a blessing or a curse?

A team fighting the impossible Torchwood is separate from the government and their mission is to keep the public safe without ever letting them know they were in danger in the first place.
