X Factor hopeful Rachel Hylton has said she is on her "last journey" of recovery from drug addiction.
The mother-of-five, who has spent time in jail, claimed that she is prepared for criticism from people who consider her to be "a junkie".
"Because of my past, you'll get people who come out and say, 'Oh, she's just a junkie, she doesn't deserve this!'" Hylton told DS.
"What I have to really stress is that I've been clean for a long time."
The 26-year-old continued: "Because I've come on the show, it's all emerging now and people have the idea that I've only been in recovery for two months.
"I've been clean for a long time and it's taken me a long while to build up my life. It's been six years. I moved out of Hackney to Stanmore, got my son back off his dad, I had my other daughter. It's been a long, hard struggle.
"To me this is just the icing on the cake. This is the last journey that I need to take."
