Dannii Minogue reportedly had a "furious" backstage row with X Factor producers over the editing of a clip featuring her and Rachel Hylton.
The footage, which appeared on Saturday's programme, appeared to show Minogue giving the singer more control of her performances.
Minogue told the studio audience following the clip: "I just want to clear up one thing, we work on songs together every week. It was misconstrued in that video."
A backstage source told The Sun: "Dannii was furious. She has made no secret of the fact that Rachel's not an easy act to mentor."
Last week, it was suggested that Hylton had fired Minogue as her mentor following clashes over song choices and styling. The rumours were quickly denied and Minogue went on to defend her act, claiming "diva" portrayals in the press were unfair.
