Rachel Hylton has confirmed that she is optimistic about her future in the music industry after being eliminated from The X Factor last night.

The mother-of-five finally lost out in her third showdown of the series, which saw her competing against boyband JLS.

After being reunited with her fellow contestants on The Xtra Factor, Hylton joked: "I can have a lie-in tomorrow, and you've all got to go and routine!"

She added: "I've enjoyed being on the show and getting some exposure on the show. You know what, I know this isn't the end for me. Everything happens for a reason and God's got his purpose. It's my time to leave. Somebody's got to go."

The five remaining acts will each perform a Britney Spears song and an American classic when the talent show continues next Saturday.
