X Factor finalist Alexandra Burke may have to take to the stage without her mother watching on tonight.
Melissa Bell, singer with 1980s band Soul II Soul, is suffering with kidney problems after being found collapsed by Burke in July.
The 44-year-old confessed that she would need to have four hours' worth of dialysis in order to see her perform.
"If I don't have the dialysis I'll die, but Alex will be heartbroken if I don't make it, so I'll try my very best," she told The Sun.
"I just want to see her get on that stage. Whatever happens I'll be so proud of her."
