Dannii Minogue has revealed that she feels "addicted" to The X Factor after two years of appearing on the hit talent show.
The Australian singer joined the ITV1 programme for the 2007 series, which saw her mentoring the top two acts, Leon Jackson and Rhydian Roberts. Last year, she returned to her role but lost all of her singers before the semi-final.
Speaking to The National Newspaper, she explained: "I like the mentoring and the working with the artists that you're given. Having performed and knowing how nervous they are, you feel really protective about them.
"I want to make sure I've done my best so they can get out there and enjoy it, and maybe win. They want it so much, you can see it in their eyes."
Commenting on the continued speculation over her future with the show, the star added: "Who knows what's going on? None of us knows what's going on.
"I would like to go on. It gets addictive. I'm not competitive for myself but I get so involved and protective of the contestants that I want to make sure they are looked after - they're like my babies. It's the first time I had that kind of feeling about something."
Simon Cowell recently praised Minogue's commitment to the programme, naming her as the hardest-working judge.
