Dannii Minogue has reportedly agreed to return to The X Factor after signing a £1 million contract.

According to the Daily Star, the 37-year-old singer has negotiated a £250,000 pay rise that will see her on an equal footing with fellow judge Cheryl Cole.

"She was finally persuaded that the show wanted her," explained an insider.

"It was never about the money. Dannii was very, very unhappy with the way things went last year. She felt she’d been hung out to dry.

"She hated all the nonsense about her so-called feud with Cheryl and hated being portrayed as a miserable party-pooper."

The friend added that Minogue was "looking forward to filming" and was "determined to have a lot of fun".

Minogue, who previously admitted to being unhappy with her portrayal on the programme, was recently reported to have demanded equal treatment to co-panellists Cole, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh as a condition of her return.

She arrived back in the UK yesterday after a two-month vacation in Australia. Filming for the sixth series of the ITV1 show is expected to begin within the next few weeks.
