Simon Cowell has decided not to offer Verity Keays a record contract.
50-year-old Verity was eliminated from The X Factor, and Simon's '25 and over solo' category, last week. However, she had hoped that Cowell would sign her up to his BMG label.
According to the News of the World, Cowell told her, "You won't sell records. I can't sign everyone who makes the live stages. It doesn't make sense and will devalue the fact there is an eventual winner."
