A spokesman for Cheryl Cole has hit back at claims that the star is a hypocrite for wearing a revealing outfit on The X Factor.
The Girls Aloud star sported a see-through black top and military-style jacket as she performed her debut solo single 'Fight For This Love' on Sunday night.
Her choice of attire came one week after she criticised girlband Kandy Rain for showing off their bodies. The former strippers had said that they wanted to be judged for their music rather than their past.
Speaking at the time, Cole commented: "You keeping saying you want to prove yourselves as singers, but you dress yourselves provocatively and that's the image you give off."
X Factor fan Simon Phillips told the Daily Star: "Last week she had a go at the group for dressing provocatively and a week later she does the same. It's like it's alright for her, but not for Kandy Rain who the judges got rid of."
However, Cole's representative insisted: "Cheryl's outfit was not provocative. She had a jacket over the top. This is a ridiculous claim."
The 26-year-old is currently on course to have the fastest-selling single of the year so far.
