Kym Marsh has admitted that she sympathises with Danyl Johnson following his recent struggles on The X Factor.
The Coronation Street actress, who first found fame on talent series Popstars in 2000, claimed that Johnson did not deserve the backlash he received from viewers and the show's judges for his confident performances.
Marsh told The Mirror: "I've felt really sorry for Danyl. He is, without doubt, the best singer by far, but he's been getting such terrible stick. It was so sad to see him a broken man the other week.
"People don't realise the damage they cause when they say nasty things about someone. Danyl is just a guy following his dream, he doesn't deserve all these jibes."
The soap star, best known as Weatherfield's Michelle Connor, also revealed that twins John & Edward have not grown on her since she first complained about them last month.
She said: "The twins are entertaining, but this is a talent show and they're not talented! The only reason they're being kept in is because they're a bit of a joke and a gimmick - to me, that's wrong."
